Benny's Pantry needs your help!
Benny’s Pantry provides food and resources for Idaho State Students when they do not have anywhere else to turn. The use of the pantry has increased exponentially over the last few years. In 2020, the pantry distributed 8,140 lbs. of food. In 2021 that increased to 11,819, and then increased to 22,522 lbs. in 2022 and 28,180 lbs. in 2023, nearly a 350% increase. So many more people are relying on resources such as Benny's Pantry to help them meet their basic needs so that they can better their circumstances through getting an education.
Today, we challenge you to the Cornforth Challenge
But generous donations help support, including a significant gift from Fred and Jill Cornforth. The Cornforth's gift has helped keep Benny’s Pantry going. Fred is a compassionate person - identifying the needs of people with few or limited means and striving to make the world a better place. He gives back to causes and others to pay forward what has been given to him. Fred says he has tremendous satisfaction sharing his experiences and changing lives so they will see what it means to be involved in other people's lives.
The Cornforth's generosity will have an impact on students for many years to come. As a thank you, we want to challenge the Idaho State community to the Cornforth Challenge – to raise $1,000 to the pantry during Bengal Giving Day, supported by the Cornforth’s generous gift. Make a gift today to support the Cornforth Challenge! Worrying about where your next meal will come from can be incredibly stressful. By providing a reliable food source, Benny's Pantry can help alleviate this stress, enabling students to concentrate more effectively on their coursework and exams. - Sharif Yousuf Bhuiyan It has been wonderful to know that when I need it, I can go and get some supplies so that I don't go hungry. Having proper nutrition has been a great help in succeeding in school. - Tyesha Harrison (Benny's) helped me get my mind off of being hungry and helped me be able to focus on my studies. - Abraham Argueta It's been amazing, I've been able to focus less on my next meal and more on my studies. -Cai Farrow Having an option to grab a few grocery items from on campus has helped since I don't have a car or transportation to go around. - Raf Megr
