Description
The Meridian Physical Therapy Pro Bono Clinic is a student group that provides access to quality physical therapy to underinsured and uninsured members in and around the Meridian community. Our desire is to remove barriers to physical therapy access to help individuals in our community achieve their health and wellness goals and live their highest quality of life.
We also are looking to further the educational experience of students in the ISU Physical Therapy program, giving them an opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals. We hope to encourage students and volunteer providers from the community to meet the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) professional values and vision of having a “moral and ethical obligation to provide services to those without access to care due to financial reasons, lack of availability of services, or a disaster.” We are seeking funds to assist with patient transportation to increase the availability of care along with translation services to better serve our non-English speaking patients. Along with transportation and translation funds, we are hoping for funds to assist with purchasing clinic materials for continuation of running an efficient clinic and being able to provide patients with therapeutic equipment.
