College of Pharmacy

Idaho’s College of Pharmacy serves all citizens of the state and is a national leader in student outreach programs and telepharmacy services. The primary degree offered by the College is the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) that prepares students to become pharmacists. The PharmD degree is delivered synchronously in Pocatello and Meridian, Idaho, and Anchorage, Alaska. Our student outreach programs frequently win national and regional awards and our NAPLEX pass rate remains competitive. We are fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education through 2025.

In addition, the College offers a masters and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a mission of training and preparing students to succeed in one of the three main biomedical and pharmaceutical research focus areas: Drug Discovery, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology. The department spans across the ISU Sam and Aline Skaggs Health Science Center in Boise, metropolitan Meridian and the ISU Pocatello campus. Career opportunities for individuals with a graduate degree in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences include positions in academia (both research and teaching), pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, and government regulatory and research agencies.

The Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) is a postdoctoral program designed to provide licensed psychologists with training in the use of medication as part of the treatment of psychological disorders. The MSCP program at ISU has been granted American Psychological Association (APA) designation. This makes ISU the 4th program in the country to achieve APA designation and is professional recognition that ISU’s education and training program meets the highest level of academic and training standards.

The ISU College of Pharmacy trains caring and collaborative pharmacists and scholars while valuing integrity, access, inclusiveness, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and accountability.
